History of Beta Club

The National Beta Club began with 15 members in Landrum, South Carolina. There are now more than 416,000 active members in Junior and Senior divisions and more than 7,700 clubs in 44 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, the Bahamas, Guam, Russia and Germany.

Behind these facts are many people - and one person especially, the founder, Dr. John West Harris - who gave life and continuity to Beta.

Character, Leadership, Achievement, Scholarship, Service...these became key words associated with the National Beta Club. "Let us lead by serving others" became the motto.

Our Charter

Our Charter of the National Senior Beta Club Organization, has been at Duluth for.....years......lots and lots of years. It has been a source for developing good team work, leadership skills, and friendship among its members for years. Also, the community service we volunteer our time to has helped our community become a more enjoyable and happy place since we were first charted to DHS.

Also, we always try to take care of everyone's need so please let us if there's anything you need or if you have new ideas, projects, or comments (good or bad) about how Beta Club is going. We're all ears and appreciate what you have to say. Afterall, you elected us, so we have a responsibility to do a good job.

Ms. Colby is a math teacher at our school, she has graciously become our new Beta Sponsor and has been doing an outstanding job so far. We really appreciate all of her help and what she's done for us this year and hope she sticks with Beta for as long as she teaches at Duluth.

THANKS MS. COLBY!

If you need her for any reason or to answer a question that an officer can't you can reach her at Cori_Colby@gwinnett.k12.ga.us or by stopping by room 6-207 between classes or before/after school.
